A Warm Holiday Greeting November 10, 2009

The one thing we love about the holiday season is that this is the time where people send letters in the mail and take the time to send a heartfelt, sentimental message to their friends and neighbors with hand picked cards from the store, or handmade cards, with personalized messages.

With the hustle and bustle of the season, why not stay home and have your holiday cards sent to you!

We’ve taken the time to select a few of our favorites. Click on one to see a larger view or to purchase!

Interview with VampOut – People’s Choice Winner of the Living Nativity Contest. November 5, 2009

Recently our parent blog, An Aspiring Something’s Blog, posted a Zazzle design contest for his upcoming annual Living Nativity that he puts on at his church. This year he wanted to make it a little different and hand out goody bags with tags to remind the people who stopped by about their experience – this is where the contest came in.

Here is VampOut‘s design:

VampOut kindly took the time to answer a few questions:

Michael: What’s your real name?
VampOut: Dori Bruce Burgess

Michael: Where do you operate out of?
VampOut: South Carolina

Michael: What are your other aliases?
VampOut: Vampout is my new username, I used to be cullenaddict, but due to Summitt Entertainment I opted for a name change! I specialize in Vampire products, but I love to mix things up a bit and create some totally non-bloodsucking designs!

Michael: How did you hear about the Living Nativity Design Contest and what made you want to do it?
VampOut: I saw the Living Nativity Design Contest on the Zazzle Community Forum, and was interested immediately. I love creative challenges, and I feel like it is easier for me to be innovative when I am in a “competition.”

Michael: What inspired your design and how did you create it?
VampOut: I used the suggestions given in the project description, but wanted to add some texture to it. I love using grungy background textures, so I incorporated a dirty blue into my night sky. That was my favorite part of the design.

Michael: What was your favorite part of this whole process?
VampOut: I love seeing everyone’s excellent designs and various interpretations of the project. There were some gorgeous designs, and I feel honored to have even been eligible.

Once again, congratulations to VampOut for a well received design!

Thirsty Thursdays: Halloween Bash ’09 September 10, 2009

Thirsty Thursdays will be the day where we feature a mug or glass that caught our eye for just be awesome!

Today’s Thirsty Thursday glass comes from designer TeeZazzle, who also happens to be a Zazzle Pro Designer.

We loved this design for it’s simplicity but it’s adaptability for any Halloween bash.

Suggestions:

  1. Buy the smaller version of this mug for more practical use. *See ideas below*

Ideas:

  1. Put small items (such as Halloween toys, candy, etc.) inside the mug, wrap with orange or black cellophane, and hand them out as invites to your Halloween party. For an even more unique invite, fill the mug with items that match the theme of your party. On the flip side, you can always give them out as party favors to remind them of your incredible Halloween Bash!
  2. Use the larger version of mug for drinking contests – or as the prize for the drinking contest! You can even wait until after you know who the winner is to order the mug – then you can add the winner’s name to it.

Awesome design, TeeZazzle, and congrats on being a Zazzle Pro Seller!

T-Shirt Tuesday: Who You Callin’ Itsy Bitsy? September 8, 2009

For T-Shirt Tuesday we will feature a shirt every week that caught our eye for whatever reason – it was cute, wacky, interesting, a great design, or anything else. This week’s selected shirt comes from designer DesignsbySylvia who came out with this design. We thought it was a cute holiday outfit your any infant or toddler (when you change the style of shirt).

It has the right amount of cuteness along with a cute idea of adding a phrase from a children song!

Cute design, DesignsbySylvia, and keep up the great work!

Dear Fellow Zazzlers & Bloggers,

This blog was created for those special people who can’t have a holiday last just one day – it needs to last for at least a week!

We will be presenting products from our store as well as featuring some of our favorite designs on the Favorites page (http://yearroundholidays.wordpress.com/favorites-2/).

During the winter holiday months we will add another page…but we can’t tell you yet. You’ll just have to wait and see!

Sincerely,
